The ASUS ZenFone smartphones from last year were expected to get the Android 5.0 by now. However the company seems to have stumbled across some unexpected issues with the update as it has now pushed the date to May.
The company’s newly launched ZenFone 2 models are running Android 5.0 Lollipop by default, but are unfortunately limited to Asian markets for the time being. ASUS has made some neat modifications to stock Android, so it will breathe a fresh air into those devices.
ASUS has launched the ZenFone 4, 5 and 6 smartphones over the last year, which appear to be the first in line to receive the updates. Although the delay is a little disappointing, customers will be relieved to know that there’s a timeline to look forward to. ASUS is yet to mention if the Android 5.1 update will be rolled out anytime soon, as the company’s focus right now is firmly on Android 5.0.
