HTC started rolling out the Android 5.0.2 update for the One M8 smartphone some time ago. However, the carrier variants of the handset have taken quite a bit of time to receive the update with AT&T being one of the last to issue the update. However, the carrier has officially begun the rollout of Android 5.0.2 for the 2014 HTC flagship today, just as promised last week.
Interestingly, the carrier issued the update to the One M7 first, which is HTC’s flagship handset from 2013. This update was originally said to be arriving on the 6th of April.
The Android 5.0.2 ROM on HTC smartphones doesn’t introduce a lot of visual changes, but certainly brings some refreshing modifications to the UI, thanks to Google’s new Material Design philosophy. Some Sense UI apps will also be updated, keeping the system update in mind. In any case, don’t expect a major overhaul as that will be reserved for the Sense 7.0 update which the company is expected to send out later this year.
