Nexus 6 - Android 5.1

The Android 5.1 update is gradually beginning to roll out to customers. But obviously, not everybody around the world is lucky enough to get the update on day one. However, thanks to the factory images published by Google online, you can now manually flash them onto your smartphone.

You can grab the factory image download links for the Nexus 5, the Nexus 6, the WiFi Nexus 7 (2012) and the Nexus 10 below:

Nexus 5:

Nexus 6:

Android 5.1 LMY47D (from Android 5.0.1 LRX22C)

Nexus 7 (2012) WiFi:

Android 5.1 LMY47D (from Android 5.0.2 LRX22G)

Nexus 10:

Android 5.1 LMY47D (from Android 5.0.2 LRX22G)

As always, we have to warn you that flashing factory images are usually a risky affair for newbies, so proceed only if you know what you’re getting into. Android 5.1 brings forth features like HD Voice and Device Protection, which have been the key highlights of the new update.

It might take a while for Google to start rolling out the OTA update for the smartphones and tablets listed above, so if you’re impatient to wait, make sure you flash these factory images.
