Tim Harrison, who is the VP of Global Communications & PR at Sony Mobile has now clearly mentioned that the smartphone division is not for sale, thus putting a rest to all the rumors once and for all, at least for the time being. The company faces stiff competition from a range of Chinese manufacturers and its presence in the U.S. has been relatively limited. The company’s Xperia Z3 flagship has failed to impress the market despite being a very capable device.
The company unveiled the Xperia Z4 Tablet yesterday, which is a high end tablet with a 2K resolution display and a Snapdragon 810 chipset. It will be interesting to see if the company will stick to its word over the coming months when it is expected to face more competition from newer smartphones that are set to storm the marketplace.
