According to a report from a Korean media outlet, Korean manufacturer Samsung will increase the production volume of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones significantly after the response received from carriers and retailers across the globe.
It is said that Samsung has already received pre orders for 20 million units of the two handsets combined. Taking this into account, the company expects to produce 9 million more units of the Galaxy S6 and 4 million units of the Edge variant by the end of April, says the report.
It is understandable as to why the production of the Galaxy S6 Edge is not to the same extent as the Galaxy S6, considering that it’s almost a niche product and won’t appeal to everybody. This is something that the company is mindful of, which explains the relatively lower production volume. The focus will be firmly set on the handset on April 10 as it prepares to take on the competition.
