The market is yet to pass judgment on the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone which utilizes a unique dual edge display. A new report from Korea suggests that the success or failure of the smartphone could have an impact on the company’s next flagship of the year, the Galaxy Note 5.
If the Galaxy S6 Edge is successful, the Korean manufacturer will reportedly go with the dual edge curved display for the upcoming phablet. Roh Tae-moon, executive vice president of Samsung’s product strategy tossed around the idea that the curved display design could be used with the Galaxy Note line as well.
Samsung’s second mainstream curved display smartphone was the Galaxy Note Edge which broke cover last year. So the company has tried using the display on a phablet like device, although it hasn’t been successful so far.
However, if the company can impress the customers with the Galaxy S6 Edge, it will offer inspiration to further pursue the technology with its high end products. The general consensus about the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge have been fairly positive, so the company will have great expectations from the device.
