Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 in the U.S. getting Android 5.0.2

Galaxy Tab S 10.5

Samsung’s large sized AMOLED tablet, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is now receiving the Android 5.0.2 update in the U.S. according to a new revelation. The update is reportedly rolling out to the WiFi versions at the moment with the LTE models yet to get the update. This means if you bought the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 from a carrier with 4G LTE support, you’ll still be stuck on Android 4.4.

Strangely, Samsung is yet to issue a stable release of the Android 5.0 ROM for the LTE capable Galaxy Tab S. The update should be popping up over the air, but you can alternatively check the Settings section of your tablet for an update.

Android 5.0.2 introduces quite a lot of changes for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, especially coming from Android 4.4 KitKat. While there might not be a lot of Material Design elements on offer here, it’s certain that performance will receive a significant boost post the Lollipop upgrade.

Owners of the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 in the U.S., are you seeing the update on your devices yet? Sound off below.
