According to a new report, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge could bring Samsung back to its old success. It has been predicted that the company is going to ship 330 million units of its smartphones, including all the other midrange devices that it has to offer.
Unfortunately for Samsung, its midrange smartphones haven’t had the sort of impact that they had a couple of years ago, largely due to emergence of Chinese players like Xiaomi, Meizu etc, who offer better hardware for a fraction of the cost.
The estimation of these shipments were made by Digitimes Research based on analysis and current market trends. It is said that Apple will be in second place with 230 million shipments while Lenovo (including Motorola) will reportedly be at third place with 85 million shipments in 2015.
This might come across as a little too ambitious as we’re yet to see the sort of impact Samsung can have with its new breed of flagships. But we won’t be surprised if Samsung gets close to the mark, considering the positive impression the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge have had until now.
