A report from a few days ago suggested that Samsung is working on an Android 5.1 ROM for the Galaxy Note 4 with a new iteration of TouchWiz on board. However, a renowned Samsung source is now claiming that the company hasn’t begun development on the Android 5.1 ROM for its devices yet, so those past rumors were inaccurate.
It is likely however that Samsung will introduce the ROM sometime soon, as the report merely mentions that the company has no such plans right now. The company is still in the process of rolling out the Android 5.0 update to some of its devices, so it was always a long shot to expect Samsung to be working on this new ROM so early.
The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge which will arrive in the markets soon are packing Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, so Samsung device owners might have to wait a few more months to get their hands on the latest build of Android. It is said that the company is currently focused on bringing the Android 5.0 update to its Galaxy A series of smartphones.
