Although Samsung and HTC announced the One M9 almost simultaneously, only Samsung was able to give out the official launch details for its flagship handset. And now, even HTC has managed to share launch details for its flagship device, and much to our surprise, it’s on the same day as the Galaxy S6 is expected to break cover.
This could be a marketing tactic from HTC to ensure that its presence is felt in the market and not give Samsung an upper hand. American carriers are yet to announce availability, but we’re hoping for the smartphone to be available through the likes of AT&T and T-Mobile, at least initially. We have to reiterate that while some carrier variants of the One M9 might not be available on April 10, HTC will start selling it in its retail outlets across the U.S. So make sure your calendars are marked if you’re interested in snatching up HTC’s latest.
There’s also some bad news along with this. The President of HTC Americas, Jason Mackenzie has mentioned that the smartphone will not be available in a Google Play Edition variant, so you should not expect a stock Android version of the One M9 smartphone.
