The HTC One M7 from T-Mobile has already started receiving the Android 5.0 update. The company has now officially posted the Android 5.0 Lollipop RUU. This will let users flash the necessary files to their device to get Android 5.0 on the handset.
An RUU file basically brings all the stock settings of a ROM to your HTC device. However, unlike a ROM, users don’t need an unlocked bootloader or a custom recovery installed to flash a RUU.
The availability of this directly from HTC means a lot for the users who are still waiting for an update from the carrier. The update carries the software version 7.18.531.2. If you’re new to the whole process, HTC has ensured that you’re covered thanks to a detailed post with instructions on how to install an RUU file on your T-Mobile One M7.
This is a 1.5GB file, which is understandable since it also contains some new changes compared to stock Android.
