HTC is seeing some major executive reshuffling with Peter Chou being replaced by Cher Wang as the CEO of the company. Wang was previously the President and was also part of HTC’s recent One M9 announcement along with Chou.
The reason for Chou’s departure is not known at the moment, but it seems like the company will use Chou’s expertise in other fields. He is all set to take over HTC’s Future Development Labs to get more involved in the design decisions of upcoming products.
“As an entrepreneur at heart, I am excited to see so many new opportunities, and I am honored to accept this opportunity to help shape the next stage of HTC’s development,” Cher Wang said in a statement.
HTC was co-founded by Chou, Cher Wang and HT Cho in 1997, so they have been actively involved in the management of the company since then. It will be interesting to see if this will have any impact on future HTC products.
