Customers of the AT&T HTC One M7 and the One M8 will be relieved to know that the carrier will officially start sending out the update to the two devices starting late March. This comes after the likes of T-Mobile recently sent out the update to its variants, so AT&T has been relatively behind as far as sending out updates are concerned, which is no secret really.
The information was given away by the President of HTC Americas, Jason Mackenzie, in response to a user query during HTC’s Q&A session after the Uh Oh announcement earlier today. He didn’t give out a specific rollout timeframe though, although we expect to get more word on the matter from AT&T in the coming days. He also expressed some discontent over the fact that it has taken the carrier this long to bring the update to its customers.
Android 5.0.2 on the HTC One M8 and the One M7 will introduce some nifty features like lockscreen notifications, improved UI design language and some other performance tweaks to make operation much smoother. Of course, there will be some HTC (and AT&T) specific features on board as well.
