Nexus 6 handsets with T-Mobile SIM cards recently started receiving the Android 5.1 update. But if you’re one of the few unlucky users who haven’t seen the update yet, you can now manually download them from the link provided here.
All you have to do to do is download the file listed below and sideload it onto your smartphone and flash it using a custom recovery. This is not a factory image, so it’s much easier for newbies to download and install the ROM. Android 5.1 OTA for the T-Mobile Nexus 6 has been rolling out since the 16th of March, so it’s been around for quite a while.
But we understand that there are some users who are yet to see the update on their devices, so this should make lives easier for them. Android 5.1 brings changes like Device Protection and some other system level upgrades, so it’s well worth your time.
The update is for devices running Android 5.0.2 (LRX22C) and will change the build number to LMY47M. Bear in mind that this update is specific for the T-Mobile version of the Nexus 6, so only download it if you bought the smartphone through T-Mobile.
