Samsung unveiled its first Tizen branded smartphone known as the Z1 some time ago. A new report is now telling us that the manufacturer has sold a total of 100,000 units of the smartphone so far. This is not telling much as a budget smartphone of this calibre is expected to do well, especially when it’s only available in Asian markets. As of now, the device is only available in India and Bangladesh, with other markets like Nepal, Sri Lanka expected to follow soon.
There’s no word on a release in the American markets as of yet, but we’re guessing that day is not far away either. Early reports suggested that Samsung hasn’t been selling as many units of the Z1 as initially expected, but this report suggests otherwise.
The Z1 is the company’s first Tizen branded handset, so it’s imperative that it has a big impact on the market for Samsung to pursue it further. We can look forward to the company launching more Tizen handsets over the coming months.
