The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One M9 are scheduled to break cover on the 1st of March. It is now being said that Samsung has scheduled its event for two and a half hours after HTC’s event is concluded, so as to take all the attention away from HTC’s fresh launch.
This comes after Samsung reportedly rescheduled the launch of its upcoming flagship multiple times. Although the company hasn’t seen any sort of threat from HTC over the past couple of years, it’s clear that Samsung doesn’t want to risk the HTC flagship taking away all the attention.
It will be interesting to see if this marketing ploy will actually work for Samsung, given that it has not had a very good 2014. There’s a lot riding on the Galaxy S6 and it is imperative that Samsung manages to succeed in the market and regain some of the marketshare garnered by Apple’s new series of iPhones.
