Pebble recently put up a mysterious countdown timer on its website, revealing that something new is on its way. Today, the company website has revealed a new smartwatch with a slightly wider color display. This is significant as Pebble’s smartwatches up until now have come with a black and white e-ink display.
Given the increase in the display size, the smartwatch also has larger bezels. But the makers seem to have decreased the size of the buttons on the device. The color version of Pebble will not feature a touch screen, so it’s unchanged from the predecessors in that regard. This means that users will have to control notifications using the on board buttons.
The team has seemingly reworked the user interface of the smartwatch from scratch to give users a new feel. There will be new animations and effects on board as well. Previous members of the webOS team have been reportedly working on the platform, so the customers will be assured of getting the best experience out of the new Pebble. The wearable will reportedly have a thinner body as well, so there will be improvements all around.
