The Lenovo P70 smartphone has just been announced by the Chinese manufacturer as the latest competitor in the crowded midrange segment. The highlight of the smartphone is the massive 4,000 mAh battery.
This promises 32 days of standby time on 2G networks and 30 days if you’re functioning on a 4G network. The battery life during normal usage will differ based on the kind of tasks the device is running.
This is a true midrange handset as far as hardware is concerned and comes with a 5 inch 720p IPS display, an octa core 1.7 GHz MediaTek MT6752 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel camera on the back, a 5-megapixel front camera and Android 4.4 KitKat.
Even with the relatively large battery, the device is only 8.9mm thick, so Lenovo has given enough thought to the design of the handset.
The smartphone has been priced at 1,399 CNY ($220) and is available for purchase in some parts of Europe as well. The pricing is quite decent for a smartphone of this caliber and will certainly make some noise in the Asian midrange segment.
