HTC is expected to announce two smartphones at the MWC on the 1st of March. While one of them is the One M9, there’s also a phablet rumored to be launching under the One M9 Plus moniker with a QHD display. Today, this variant has been spotted on a benchmark listing, thus confirming its existence.
The revelation was made by benchmarks site CompuBench. The smartphone here is shown to be carrying the model number 0PK71, along with a 5.1 inch QHD display, a 20-megapixel rear camera as well as a massive 13-megapixel front camera. Surprisingly, the device is shown to be running on the MediaTek MT6795 chipset and not the Snapdragon 810, which makes us think that this might not be the One M9 Plus.
It is possible that this is a region specific smartphone, like the rumored Butterfly 3, which is rumored to be launching in the second half of the year. Recent reports have suggested that the HTC One M9 Plus could be sporting a 5.1 or 5.2 inch display instead of the 5.5 inch panel as originally rumored, so this could be the real deal.
