U.S. based mobile OEM Blu has just launched the Studio Energy smartphone in the country for just $150. The smartphone was originally shown off during the CES event last month, so it’s a pretty new device. As you might have guessed by the name, the smartphone holds a 5,000 mAh battery underneath the back cover, making it one of the few devices in the market to do so.
The asking price is just $150, which is another bonus with the Blu Studio Energy. Apart from the massively sized battery, the device also has a 5 inch 720p display, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a 2-megapixel front camera, the quad core 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 chipset, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat. The storage on the smartphone can be increased with cards of up to 64GB supported.
With the 5,000 mAh battery, the device will reportedly have 45 days of standby and 4 days of normal use. Given the hardware on offer, we don’t find these numbers shocking. Coincidentally, the launch comes on the same day as the Lenovo P70 was announced which packs a 4,000 mAh battery and a slightly higher price tag.
