Recovering Photos From Damaged MicroSD Card

Problem: Good day guys, I have a question regarding on transferring photos from SD card to the phone. By the way, I have a brand new Galaxy Note 3 and my SD card was damaged. Is there any way that I can recover my important photos from damaged SD card?. Last night I contacted straight talk and asked on what were the ways on how to transfer my Photo’s from damaged SD card to the phone? But the representative told me there’s no way to recover all those files and all I need to do is to buy a new one. Right now I’m very optimistic that I can recover all those photos from my SD card and I hope you can help me.. Thanks! — Marv

Suggestion: Hey Marv! I’m not really sure what you meant by “damaged.” If the damage is physical, then it’s impossible to recover those photos. In case the microSD card was simply “corrupted” (i.e. stopped working all of the sudden), there could still be a chance as long as you haven’t attempted to format it.

I suggest you put it in a card reader and insert it to your laptop if possible. Computers can read corrupted SD cards better than smartphones. You will either be prompted to reformat the card or how to open files in it. In case, you’re prompted to reformat the card, don’t do it as it will just delete all data in it. If, however, you can still access the contents, then that’s when you backup everything.

There are technicians who can still extract data from corrupted SD cards. Find one in your area if there is because we can only do so much about it.

What Kind Of SIM Card Galaxy Note 3 Use?

Question: Hi Harold, last month I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from other service provider. However, I’m having a confusion about my phone if I can use it on straight talk. My phone has a SIM card slot but I cannot identify what size of SIM Card will fit on the slot. I called straight talk the other day and the representative told me to asked on Walmart representatives if ever I will buy a Sim Card. I’d like to make sure about the size of the Sim card that I will be using on my phone because I don’t want to waste my money purchasing a wrong size of Sim Card. I hope you can help me, and thank you for this free support! — Neo

Answer: Hey Neo. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 uses micro SIM card. But just to give you an overview of the SIM cards available to users nowadays, the normal SIM card is the biggest, followed by the micro SIM, then the nano SIM. Normal SIM cards can be cut into the size of the micro and nano SIMs. If you have a nano SIM, you can use an adapter to make it fit into the slot of the micro SIM card.

Straight Talk Galaxy Note 3 Restarts After App Installation

Problem: Hello droid guys, last year I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at Walmart and subscribed on straight talk’s unlimited promo. During the first few months my phone is absolutely working great I can make a call, browse the web, send MMS and send and receive text messages. But just this week the issue started when I downloaded an application in Play Store and after that, my phone suddenly restart by itself. However, I noticed the issue when I woke up in the morning and my phone is Off, so I turned On my phone but after a few minutes my phone restart by itself. I called straight talk and they advised me to factory reset my phone, but I don’t want to do reset on my phone because I have important photos and phone numbers stored on my phone. I’ll wait for any suggestions. Thank you for this free support and more power! — April

Troubleshooting: Hi April. If you’re positive the cause of the problem is the app you installed from the Play Store, then it’s easy to fix. You need to boot your phone in safe mode to temporarily disable all third-party applications including the one that’s causing the problem. Once in safe mode, you can try to uninstall the app to see if it makes a difference. Then backup all your data as there is always a possibility that you will have to reset the phone to make it work normally again.

Safe Mode

  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power
  3. When ‘GALAXY Note 3′ appears on the screen, release the Power Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.

In the first few days my phone is working great, I can make a call and send and receive a text messages. However, just 2 days ago, my phone cannot anymore make a call and send and receive text messages. I turned off and on my phone several times but problem is the same. I also checked the signal bars of my phone but there’s no problem with it, and I’m sure there’s no problem with my plan because I enrolled on unlimited call, text and data of straight talk. Straight Talk Galaxy Note 3 Can’t Copy/Paste Texts

Problem: Hello guys, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at Walmart last year. The issue of my phone started just this week when I noticed that my phone wont copy/paste a texts. I tried turning my phone Off and On but the issue still not fix. Yesterday, I called straight talk assuming that my phone will be fix, but unfortunately the issue is still the same. For several hours talking to the tech-guy but he cannot provide a solution on my problem. My phone was factory reset twice but there’s no use. I hope you can help me with issue and thank you for this free support and more power! — James

Troubleshooting: More often this problem is associated with a firmware issue, although there is a possibility that it’s just a clipboard glitch. Wiping the clipboard would fix this problem but a simply factory reset (via Settings menu) will not be enough. Factory reset will only delete files, apps and settings but it will never format the data partition where the clipboard saves all copied data. What you need to do is full hard reset:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power
  3. When ‘GALAXY Note 3′ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home
  5. Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

I hope this helps.

Straight Talk Galaxy Note 3 Can’t Get Out of Safe Mode

Problem: Hi good day, I’m Kevin and I’m not a tech-savvy person. Well, my phone is Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I bought it at Walmart 3 months ago. The issue started yesterday morning when I noticed that there’s a message showing on the screen “Safe Mode”. I don’t have an idea why I have this message on my phone. Last night I downloaded an application in Play Store and then after an hour I reboot my phone and the message “Safe Mode” is not showing on my phone screen at that time. However, on the following day the message showed up on the screen, I reboot my phone several times assuming that my phone will go back to normal but there’s no use. I already called on straight talk and we did a lot of troubleshooting but the message “Safe Mode” is still there on the screen. Please help me on how to fix it and thank you! — Kevin

Troubleshooting: The most common reason why the phone boots up in safe mode is when a third-party app causes conflicts with the firmware. Booting in safe mode will temporarily disable all third-party apps that’s why the problem seems to be fixed when the phone is in this state. However, if the device can’t boot up normally from safe mode, it means that there’s a more serious issue than a glitch with one of the apps. Usually, wiping the cache partition will fix the problem but if it failed, then you really have to perform full master reset.

Wipe Cache Partition

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, and Power
  3. When ‘GALAXY Note 3′ appears on the screen, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  6. Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  7. With ‘reboot system now’ highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.

Full Master Reset

Straight Talk Galaxy Note 3 Won’t Ring When Called

Problem: Hello Harold, your site is a big help for us as customers of straight talk. Well, I have a Galaxy Note 3 and I purchased it at Walmart 7 months ago. The issue of my phone started last 3 days ago when my friend tried to call on my number. However, I cannot answer most of my calls because I cannot hear my phone ring. But there’s an instance that my phone ring but most often it wont. I turned Off and On but still it won’t ring. Yesterday, I called straight talk but they cannot fix the problem. I declined on the offer of the tech guy to ship my phone to their warehouse for repair because I can’t use my phone for 15 days. I don’t know how to fix the problem, I hope you help me and I’ll wait of your reply. Thank you and more power! — Amanda

Troubleshooting: Hi Amanda, sending your phone in for repair should be the last resort. First of all, make sure the phone’s volume is all set to an audible level. Then, try to use other ringtones to see if that makes a difference. If both of these procedures failed, perform factory reset to bring the phone back to its default settings:

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps
  2. Choose Settings, and tap General
  3. Tap Backup and reset and choose Factory data reset.
  4. At the bottom of the screen, touch the button Reset device.
  5. Choose Erase everything. Once all data and settings on the Note 3 have been deleted, the phone will reset and then reboot.

If all else failed, you really have to send the phone in for repair as there is a possibility it’s a hardware issue.

Straight Talk Galaxy Note 3 Won’t Charge

Problem: Hi droid guys, my Galaxy Note 3 has a little problem on charging. By the way my phone is 6 months old and I bought it at Walmart. Well, in the first 6 months my phone is totally fine, I don’t have any issues like cannot send a text message or make a call. The issue started when I charged my phone overnight and on the next day as I charged it because the battery is already empty my phone won’t charge anymore. I leaved the charger connected on my phone for a few hours but my phone is not charging. In fact, in order for me to use my phone, I charge the battery of my phone to my sister’s Galaxy Note 3 and after the battery is full I inserted it back the battery to my own Galaxy Note 3. it’s a hassle on my part because my battery won’t charge on my phone. I need your advice on how to fix the issue. Thank you! — Martha

Troubleshooting: You forgot to mention if you used your own charger when you inserted the battery into your sister’s phone to charge. It can be a charger issue. The best thing to do is try to charge your sister’s phone using your charger. If the phone won’t charge, then you really have to buy a new charger for your phone. However, if your sister’s phone charges fine with your charger, then the issue must be in the USB charge port of your phone. You need to have the device checked by a technician for proper evaluation. There is a possibility that the USB charge port will be replaced.

Touchscreen Won’t Work After Being Dropped

Problem: Hi guys, my phone is Galaxy Note 3 and I bought it at Walmart 2 months ago. The issue of my phone started when I accidentally dropped it on the floor. However, I checked my phone and I’m sure that there’s no physical damage. But after a few hours my touchscreen won’t work anymore, I turned off and On but there’s no use. I waited for an hour assuming that my phone will work but the touchscreen of my phone still won’t work. I don’t have issues on the buttons of my phone, when I press the power button the phone will immediately turned off the same on the Volume up and Volume down. I contacted the tech support of straight talk and asked for any remedy about the issue but they cannot fix it. For almost a week already my phone is unusable. Any advice is a huge help for me. Thanks! — Frances

Suggestion: I assume you couldn’t see a crack on any part of the phone, right? That doesn’t mean the phone wasn’t affected by the impact of the drop because apparently, the phone is suffering from a problem that can be minor or serious.

Based on your description, it’s only the touchscreen that won’t work. That would immediately point out that the problem is with the digitizer. It is the glass covering the display and while it looks like a normal glass, there’s actually a circuit that conducts touch commands to the processor.

There’s nothing much we can do about it since it’s a hardware issue. I suggest you have a technician take a look at it. If the digitizer was damaged, I believe you really have to buy the entire display panel and have it replaced. The digitizer is glued properly to the display panel making it impossible to detach.
