The Sony Xperia Z4 isn’t expected to break cover until the MWC event in March. Today, a new report emerging out of a Taiwanese source has revealed that the handset will be available in two different variants at the time of launch.
In its bid to appeal the American market, it is said that the manufacturer will ready a variant sporting a 2K display exclusively for the U.S. The rest of the world markets will reportedly receive a 1080p version of the Xperia Z4, says the report.
There’s also word on the water/dust resistance feature of the Xperia Z4 claiming that the company has made some major inroads in this area. It is said that the new handset will not require a flap to be covered in order to protect itself from water damage.
For all the praises that Sony smartphones have seen, this was probably the only shortcoming in its design. But with this probably going out of the way, customers can be assured of getting an even better experience with the Xperia Z4. We’ll keep our ear to the ground for more details on the smartphone. The MWC event will kick off in March over at Barcelona, where we expect other major announcements to take place.
