The Samsung Gear VR wearable is a very capable device, although its usability is currently very limited. A new report now mentions that the wearable could get support for two more smartphones in the coming months. It is said that the upcoming Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S Edge will support the Gear VR right out of the box.
This was almost obvious as Samsung wouldn’t want to leave out its upcoming flagships from supporting a wearable like the Gear VR. Since size will be an issue, we’re guessing there will be an adaptor of some sort to support smaller sized devices.
Although it makes sense for Samsung to launch a smaller variant of the Gear VR to fit the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S Edge, it doesn’t seem like a feasible option. It will be interesting to see how this works as the current iteration of the Gear VR has been designed specifically to work with the Galaxy Note 4.
It is hoped that Samsung keeps its older users in mind too, as that’s the only way it can push the sales of the Gear VR wearable. Only yesterday the manufacturer started selling the Gear VR through Best Buy, so a wide range of customers can get their hands on it as of now (assuming they own a Galaxy Note 4).
