Samsung has already shown off its Tizen based televisions in length. And just as it begins to start shipping TVs running the OS, the company has now announced that it plans to sell close to 30 million units of these televisions before the end of the year. That’s pretty ambitious even for a company like Samsung, but considering the dominance it has on the global television market, it’s not unachievable.
The company has mentioned that a majority of its 2015 Smart TVs will be running Tizen OS by default, so most televisions you buy from the company this year will have the OS. Samsung is pushing Tizen forward with an aggressive approach towards the market.
The company already has a camera running on Tizen while its entire Gear smartwatch lineup (with the exception of the Gear Live) are running Tizen out of the box. There’s even a smartphone called the Z1, but it’s only available in some regions at this point.
