Xiaomi’s next major flagship is expected to be announced later this Thursday. A new leak has now revealed the device in its entirety, taking away the surprise from the Jan 15 event. This alleged series of images believed to be of the Xiaomi Mi5 are showing off the device in white. The AnTuTu benchmark scores of the handset are also revealed here, so we have a decent idea of what to expect from the device in terms of performance.
Hardware enthusiasts will be disappointed to learn that the smartphone is revealed to be packing the year old Snapdragon 801 chipset and not Snapdragon 805 or 810 as rumors had estimated. The display resolution here could be 1080p according to one of the screenshots, although we can’t tell for certain at this point as most of the text shown on the device is in Mandarin.
The device is shown to be scoring 46,866 points on AnTuTu which is quite remarkable for a Snapdragon 801 device. We’re guessing Xiaomi has tweaked the software in a way that it can make use of the processor efficiently. Other hardware details of the smartphone haven’t been established at this point, but we don’t have to wait long given that a launch is just two weeks away.
