With Lollipop updates for the Galaxy S5 already out in Malaysia, Poland, Russia, and Spain, now it’s the UK’s turn. This is Android 5.0 (build LRX21T) however, not version 5.0.2 (LRX22G) which, according to SamMobile, is being internally tested at Samsung.
Lollipop is still Lollipop though. Even though most of Google’s new Material Design design has been replaced with TouchWiz, it appears that TouchWiz has finally gotten a bit of an UI update in apps such as the dialer, messaging, calculator, clock, and S Health.
You get the rest of Lollipop’s enhancements as well such as lock screen and heads-up notifications, MirrorLink support, Tap & Go (to help automatically set up your new Android device), the ART runtime, and much more.
The fingerprint sensor also has a new driver according to Samsung, which should help with reliability. The Note 4’s fingerprint lock screen design has also been ported over to the S5.
To update your Galaxy S5 (once again, only in the countries where the update is available), you can either update OTA (over the air) or use Samsung’s Kies software on a Mac or PC.
