Lenovo’s AnyPen technology allows users to scribble on the Yoga Tablet 2 with almost any object (including forks)

Lenovo AnyPen

Lenovo launched the Yoga Tablet 2 and the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro at the CES event yesterday. While these tablets might appear run of the mill at first glance, it seems like they’re capable of a lot more. The tablets are revealed to be packing something known as the Lenovo AnyPen technology which allows customers to use practically any pointy object on the surface of the display to be used as a stylus.

This includes ball point pens and even forks, so you don’t really have to look around for a stylus to use the device. This is a very neat feature to have on a tablet and we’re guessing Lenovo has some extra layer of protective coating on the device to save it from scratches and other marks.

The company says that AnyPen technology will be found on all of its upcoming tablets in 2015, which is welcome news. The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 and the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro will launch in the market starting later this month for an unspecified price.

It will be interesting to see whether a feature like AnyPen will strike a chord with the customers or merely remain a gimmicky feature. What do you think?
