Selfies have long been a trend now with manufacturers going a step further to announce selfie oriented handsets. HTC even took it to the next level with the Desire Eye by adding a dual LED flash to its front camera for those self shot images in the dark.
But what about those who don’t have dedicated hardware for a front facing flash? Enter Lenovo’s Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash, which is a $29 accessory that can fit into your smartphone’s headphone jack. However, the Selfie Flash doesn’t technically work like a conventional flash as it’s always lit up once you turn it on using the dedicated switch on the device.
The flash ring has eight integrated LEDs, promising to light up even the most badly lit rooms around you. Lenovo claims that the device can last up to 100 selfies on one charge, which is quite impressive for a device this size. Luckily, users can recharge the Selfie Flash whenever they please just like any other device.
With an asking price of $29, the Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash can make a decent addition to your list of tech possessions. However, Lenovo claims that the Selfie Flash will only be sold through its online store starting this Sprint and won’t be available in the U.S. So if you want to get one of these, Lenovo’s website is the only way to go.
