A new leak has revealed very convincing looking images of the Galaxy J1 handset. This is an upcoming low end smartphone coming out of Samsung’s sheds with a body similar to the Galaxy S III. This tells us that it’s a midrange device with not so flattering hardware.
The device is revealed to be packing a 4.3 inch WVGA resolution display, a 5-megapixel camera on the back, a 2-megapixel front camera, a 1.2 GHz quad core Marvell PXA1908 quad core 64-bit chipset, 4GB of storage (expandable), 1GB of RAM, Android 4.4.4 KitKat and a 1,850 mAh battery.
This could be the start of a new breed of low end devices from Samsung. We’ve already seen the Galaxy A series which are well built midrange devices, but the Galaxy J series could be budget friendly offerings. There’s no word on availability or pricing at the moment, but we’ll make sure you’re the first to know when anything new pops up.
