Huawei’s smartphone sales in 2014 saw a significant bump

A new report indicates that Chinese manufacturer Huawei saw a sales increase of nearly 33% in 2014. The manufacturer is believed to have churned out $11.8 billion in revenue this year. The figure might not be much considering that the manufacturer shipped close to 75 million smartphones in the year. This is down from its original estimate of selling 80 million smartphones in the year.

Even with this figure, the company has seen a sales increase of 40% year over year, so there’s not much to complain about if you’re a Huawei stock holder. Since the company mostly sells low end and midrange devices, the profit margins are obviously not as much as other major companies.

That being said, the manufacturer will be pleased by the increase in revenue, considering that it has increased by almost one thirds over a one year period. The company is competing with the likes of Xiaomi, Lenovo, Oppo, Meizu and several others in its home region of China, so these figures are quite impressive.

  1. I’ve had a Mate2 for over 6 months. Great build quality, performance and incredible battery life. The fact it doesn’t have the latest & greatest hardware or software doesn’t matter because it is flat stable & fast.
