ASUS has teased the arrival of a dual camera smartphone on social media networks before. And today, the company has made it glaringly obvious that its upcoming flagship will indeed be camera oriented. The Taiwanese manufacturer has posted a teaser on YouTube completely in Morse code, which roughly translates to “optical zoom”. This tells us that ASUS’ next will be a device like we haven’t seen before, which is an excellent way to start off 2015 for us tech fans.
The company’s announcement is scheduled to take place on January 5 during the start of the CES event, so there’s not much waiting left to do. We’ve seen Huawei recently launching a dual camera smartphone, so ASUS won’t be alone in its quest to bring an innovative product to the market.
But the mention of optical zoom has certainly gotten everybody excited as mobile cameras generally rely solely on digital zooming technology. We can also expect the smartphone to have some other distinguishing features which would make it compete with top level flagships that are available in the market today.
