Archos is a very popular figure in European markets, known primarily for its budget smartphones and tablets. The French company has now announced a couple of new devices before CES 2015 officially kicks off on Monday in Las Vegas. One of them is a smartphone known simply as the Archos Diamond. It is aimed at the budget segment, but Archos has ensured that people will get value for money with the device.
The second device to go official is a tablet known as the Archos 80b Helium with a price tag of $150. The company hasn’t shared details on the device, but we do know that it packs a 1.5 GHz quad core processor and possibly a 7 inch display.
The Diamond on the other hand is revealed to be packing a 5 inch 1080p display, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera and possibly Android 4.4 KitKat. The smartphone carries a price tag of $200, which makes it one of the most powerful handsets in the price range. Archos mentions that both devices are running 4G LTE, which could be a key selling point in European markets.
The company mentions that there will be more devices on offer at CES next week including the 70 and 101 Helium along with the 45b, 50b and 50c Helium smartphones, so there’s plenty to look forward to this Monday.
