Xiaomi will reportedly launch its next major flagship smartphone next month, according to a post by the company on its official Weibo page. There’s no word on what this smartphone will bring in terms of features, but it’s likely that this is the Mi5 handset that was rumored to launch soon.
The company also announced that it had raised an additional $1.1 billion in funding, taking its total valuation to $45 billion, which is testament to its widespread success in the Chinese market. The Mi5 is the successor to the Mi4 which was announced back in August, so we might see some beefed up hardware on board the smartphone.
While there haven’t been any leaks lately, it is being said that Xiaomi will jump on board the 2K display bandwagon with its next smartphone and offer a high end specs sheet, with a budget price tag of course. We’ll keep an ear to the ground for more word on this upcoming flagship from Xiaomi. Head over to the official MiUI blog post for more details on the report.
