Verizon is now rolling out an OTA update to the Motorola Droid Turbo. And before you get excited, no this doesn’t bring Android 5.0 to the device. However, the carrier mentions the arrival of the Advanced Calling 1.0 feature which allows you to use voice and data simultaneously.
Barring this, the update also brings some changes to the email app which now shows attachments on top rather than piling them at the bottom. There are also some bug fixes in tow, although Verizon fails to clarify what kind.
The OTA update should start rolling out to devices over the course of the day, so make sure you’re on the lookout for a notification from the carrier. Considering the size of the update, you probably won’t need to be on an unlimited WiFi network to download and install it.
The Droid Turbo is in line to receive the Android 5.0 update, although Motorola and Verizon haven’t provided specific details on when. Since it’s one of the latest devices to come out of Motorola’s manufacturing units, it should be high up on the list. That being said, Verizon smartphones have never been quick with updates.
