Sprint has started rolling out a new update for the LG G3 today. Unfortunately it’s nothing to write home about as it doesn’t bring a change in the Android version and merely some carrier specific features on board. The update also breaks root access, so make sure you’re wary of that before proceeding with the installation.
Among the carrier specific changes include the addition of international WiFi calling and some bug fixes. There are some chipset related changes from Qualcomm and modifications to stock Android coming from Google, although it will go unseen to the naked eye. The smartphone will also see better recognition of auxiliary cables and improved performance of the compass app as well. The update changes the software version of the smartphone to ZV6.
The LG G3 is expected to receive the Android 5.0 update anytime soon, although carriers are yet to provide details on launch and availability. Are you seeing the update on your Sprint LG G3? Let us know below.
