Sprint’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Note II will reportedly start receiving a firmware update on the 6th of January according to a statement release by Samsung. The smartphone will receive the update with the version number L900VPUBNK2 and will reportedly bring a new HD Voice icon and some security oriented bug fixes.
Keeping this in mind, the smartphone will still be on Android 4.4.2, so don’t expect any changes as far as the Android version is concerned. The smartphone should receive the Android 5.0 update sometime soon since the hardware is not a concern, but we won’t be surprised if Samsung skips the device altogether.
The company’s recent handsets like the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4 are expected to receive the latest version of Android by January, so there’s not much waiting left to get your hands on the latest update. Leaks and early builds of Samsung’s Android 5.0 ROMs have given us a brief idea of what to expect from the new update.
