New screenshots from HTC’s Android 5.0 ROM have just leaked out, revealing all that we need to know about the new update. The likes of the HTC One M8 and the One M7 will be among the first to receive the update. The leak reveals no drastic changes at first glance, however there are some much needed changes on board, mainly in the lockscreen, notifications area and the multitasking tray where the apps are now arranged neatly. These are mostly stock Android related features, so it’s not clear yet if there will be some HTC specific changes with the update.
The company’s Sense 6 UI is expected to get a major overhaul with Sense 7.0, which will launch with the HTC Hima or the One M9 in early 2015. This could introduce a lot more changes and features as the entire user interface will be reworked. Needless to say, the Android 5.0 update for your HTC One smartphones will breathe a fresh life. The company is expected to send out the update to the One M8 and the One M7 starting January 3, so there’s not much time left for us to know.
