S2 Freezes When Playing Music Over Bluetooth

Problem: My phone works fine other than occassional freezes and self restarts. When i use my new wireless bluetooth headset Since to play newer tracks the songs stop mid play and the phone locks up and shuts down. What can I do to fix this? Geek quad was no help. I factory reset the phone I think its software incompatiblity so I was going to return the bluetooth.

Solution: If the factory reset that you performed failed to resolve the issue then there may be some compatibility issues between your phone and the Bluetooth headset.

Have you tried checking if your phone is using the latest software update? These updates come with improvements and bug fixes that may help resolve this issue.

If you have access to another smartphone then you should also try to pair it with your Bluetooth headset to check if it works properly. If the problem still occurs then its probably a headset issue.

S2 Microphone Issue After Update

Problem: Hi, I have recently updated Samsung s2 firm version to 4.1 from then I’m facing problem with mic. When i make calls the counter person, he is not able to hear my voice. its working fine when i allow a speaker. I’m thinking that because of software update the mic is not responding correctly.

1. I’m able to speak calls by turning on speaker that means my mic is working fine

2. I visited store they replaced new mic and tested but same problem continued. after some analysis they said mic is not responding correctly. Please give solution how to resolve this issue.

Solution: There is a possibility that this is just a software issue. When a phone undergoes a software update issues sometimes occur right after. This is usually caused by the data of the old software version that’s not completely removed. This causes a conflict with the new software version in your phone. To get rid of this old data you should perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your data before proceeding.

  • Turn the phone off.

  • With the phone still off, hold down the Power, Volume Up and Menu buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. Release them when you see the green android logo. This’ll get you into the unlock/reset menu.

  • Scroll down and select ‘Wipe Data/Factory Reset’. You can use the volume buttons to scroll up/down and the power button to confirm selections.

  • Select ‘Yes – Delete All User Data’.

  • Select ‘Reboot System Now’. The phone then reboots to factory settings.

The issue should be gone by now.

If the problem still exists then your other option is to try to revert back to the previous version to check if this is indeed a software issue. You can check the popular Android forums for instructions on how to flash the old firmware into your phone.

One other option is to bring your phone to an authorized service center as this may already be a hardware related problem that concerns the board.

S2 Can’t Hear Caller

Problem: Hi, I got a problem with Samsung Galaxy S2 when I talk to people over the phone I cannot hear them loudly even with earphone can you please help me. Thank You.

Solution: This might just be caused by a temporary glitch in the software. Try rebooting your phone first.

  • Turn off your phone.

  • Take out the battery.

  • Press and hold the power button for at least 3 minutes

  • Reinsert the battery.

  • Turn on your phone.

Try checking if the issue still exists.

If the problem still persists then the next thing you should check is if whether an app installed in your phone is causing this. To do this you should start your phone in Safe Mode.

  • Turn off the Galaxy Note 2 by pressing the Power button (positioned in the right edge of the device). Tap Power Off from the choices that will appear followed by OK.

  • Once the device successfully shuts down, press the Power button again, but this time, keep your finger pressed on it together with the Volume Down button.

  • Let go of the Power button when you see the Samsung Galaxy Note II logo but do not let go of the Volume Down key yet.

  • After that, you will see a status message telling you that your Galaxy Note 2 is now in Safe Mode. Let go of the Volume Down key and tap the OK button.

In Safe Mode try placing a call. If you can hear the person on th other end then there is a possibility that an app is causing this problem. Find out what that app is and uninstall it.

If the issue still persists then the final troubleshooting step you can do to eliminate any software related problems is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your data first before proceeding.

If the issue still persists at this point then this may already be hardware related. You should bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.

S2 Unfortunately Stopped Error Message

Problem: My samsung hasn’t been working correctly so i got a new phone. I want to receive some old pictures off of my samsung though, and every time i finally get it turned on it pops up messages saying ‘unfortunately ________ has stopped working’ and it pops these up one right after another. I can’t get to the regular screen. Help?

Solution: In most cases this issue is caused by some corrupt temporary data that is in your phone. You should wipe its cache partition to resolve the issue. This procedure does not delete your personal data.

  • Turn off the device.

  • Press and hold both Volume Up and Volume Down keys at the same time.

  • Press the Power key only until the phone vibrates once, then release only the Power key.

  • Continue to hold the Volume up and Volume Down keys until the Android System Recovery screen appears.

  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight wipe cache partition.

  • Press the Home(GB only) or Power(ICS only) key to select.

  • Make sure Reboot System Now is highlighted and press the Home (or Powerkey to reboot.

Another way to get the old photos from your phone is to connect it to a computer running no the latest Kies software. This allows you to backup not only your photos but other personal data as well.

S2 Won’t Turn On

Problem: Hi Droidguy, my samsung galaxy s2 wont turn on when i press the power button i only see the sign (samsung) and it goes black and then again samsung sign comes up but it does not further than that. When I am trying to go into safe mode warning triangle comes up and when I accept that the downloading icon appears which stays there forever. Please help me with this. I will really appreciate your help!!

Solution: To resolve this issue you should first try to clear the RAM of your phone of any temporary data as this may be the cause of the problem.

  • Turn off your phone.

  • Take out the battery.

  • Press and hold the power button for at least 3 minutes

  • Reinsert the battery.

  • Turn on your phone.

If your phone does not turn on normally then try connecting it to its wall charger then turn it on. If it does turn on then you may have a faulty battery. Try replacing it with a new one and see if that does the trick.

If the issue still persists then you may have a bricked phone. You should wipe your phone cache partition in this case.

Try turning on your phone. If it still does not turn on then you may have to flash its original firmware back. Take note that this will delete all of your personal data stored in your device. You will need a copy of the original firmware of your phone and a software called Odin to perform this procedure. Check out the popular android forums online for instructions on how to do this.

S2 Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hello, I seem to be having problems with my S2. I cannot turn it on at all. I plugged it in the charger and the led blinks but the screen doesn’t do anything. I once saw the charging battery symbol flash on the screen while pressing the home button but I’m not sure if these two are connected. I tried the recovery mode and nothing. How long am I supposed to hold down the volume buttons, and how long for the power button also? If theres any way you can help me that would be great. I do appreciate it. Thank you for your help and your time. Best regards

S2 Intermittent Charging Issue

Problem: Hi there, I’ve been having trouble with my S2 where it does not charge properly. It will start charging and then go back and forth from charging to not charging. It also turns it self on when I have turned it off while it is plugged in. I have bought new batteries and chargers for it but nothing has helped. The only way I can currently charge it is by using a separate battery charger which then means I cannot use my phone. Is there any solution to this problem?

Solution: You should first check if this issue is caused by the USB cord of your charger. In most cases this usually gets damaged easily causing the intermittent charging issue. Try using another USB cord.

You should also check if there is any dirt present in your phone charging port and the USB cord. If you spot any then clean it using a toothpick or a cotton dipped in alcohol. Make sure to turn off your phone before cleaning it.

If the issue persists then this might be caused by a hardware problem of the phone itself. You should have your phone checked at an authorized service center.

S2 Randomly Switches Off

Problem: Hi im having a problem with my s2 it keeps switching its self off all the time, its been doing it on and off for about a week now. Ive not loaded any new applications on it and ive run a virus scan but found nothing wrong..can you help please.

Solution: You should first check if an app you installed is causing this problem by running you phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the default apps are loaded while those apps you installed from the Google Play Store.

If the issue disappears then there is a big possibility it may have been caused by an app. Find out what that app is and uninstall it.

There’s also the possibility that this may be caused by a faulty battery. Try replacing it with a new one.

One last troubleshooting step you can do to eliminate any software related causes is a factory reset.

If the issue persists then this may already be a hardware related problem. You will have to bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.

S2 Not Connecting To Wi-Fi

Problem: When I try to connect my Galaxy S2 to my wi fi the message “connection terminated poor connection” is displayed. Both the laptops and the kindle show an excellent connection strength. If I have to get another phone (I’m looking at an S3) would my present sim card go straight into the new one with no problems. Many thanks,

Solution: You might want to try deleting the Wi-Fi network from your phone then adding it again as this usually resolves the issue.

To remove the Wi-Fi connection

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.

  • Tap Settings.

  • Tap Wi-Fi.

  • If necessary, tap Wi-Fi Switch to turn on Wi-Fi. Switch moves right and turns green.

  • Touch and hold on the Wi-Fi network you want to delete.

  • Tap Forget network.

To scan and connect to the Wi-Fi network

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.

  • Tap Settings.

  • Tap Wi-Fi.

  • If necessary, tap Wi-Fi Switch to turn on Wi-Fi. Switch moves right and turns green.

  • Tap Scan.

  • Tap the network you want to connect to.

  • If security is enabled, enter the password.

  • Tap Connect.

Regarding the SIM size the S2 uses a mini SIM while the S3 uses a micro SIM. The present SIM you are using won’t fit in the S3. You will have to cut your SIM or have it replaced.

S2 Gift Box Icon Appears On Screen

Problem: Hi , this morning when I woke up there was a gift box (present) icon on my.home screen and I don’t know where it’s come from. It’s stripey with a bow on it and a question mark on the front. Needless to say I haven’t pressed it. I’ve tried to long hold it and no options come up. When I scroll through my home screens it stays in the same place. It won’t go away! Turned phone off for a bit and when I turn it back on it’s gone but pops back up after a couple of mins. Done virus scans and nothing. Where had it come from and how do I get rid of it?!

Solution: There’s a big possibility that this is caused by an app installed in your phone. To verify this you need to start your phone in Safe Mode.

If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is caused by an app. Some of the top suspects include launchers and free apps. Try to uninstall ny third party app in your phone on at a time until you find the one causing this.

S2 Can’t Delete Icons

Problem: My wife has a Galaxy S2, Model SGH-T989. It is running Android version 4.1.2. It has a 32 GB SD card. It is a T-Mobile incarnation of the phone. She is having issues, and I’ve been tasked with trying to sort things out. She has icons that she can’t get rid of. They are grayed out, with a small square, containing the letters SD, in the bottom right hand corner of the icon. An app name is under the icon. If one taps the icon, one gets an “Application Not Installed’ message, which is probably correct, since the SD card had problems and had to be re-formatted a while back. However, she cannot get rid of the icon. If one presses and holds the icon, the Home screen comes up with the little trash can at the top, and one can drag the icon to the trash can. However, even though it has been dropped onto the trash can icon, the original icon is not deleted. How can I delete these orphan icons?

Solution: In most cases long pressing the icon and dragging it to the trash can will delete it however in this case it does not appear to work. You can install some of the popular apps found at the Google Play Store that is made to get rid of these orphan icons.

You can also perform a factory reset on your phone. This however will delete everything in your phone and bring it back to its original condition. Make sure to backup your data first before proceeding.

S2 Unresponsive After Factory Reset

Problem: I HAVE JUST DONE A FACTORY RESET ON MY SAMSUNG GALAXY S11 and now I cannot do anything with it. It does not turn on, I cannot get it into download mode. Any suggestions welcome please.

Solution: There might be an issue with your phone battery. Try to charge it using the wall charger for at least 30 minutes then turn on your phone. If there is still no response then try to replace the battery with a new one.
