Note 3 Call Waiting Automatically Connects Incoming Call

Problem: I’m encountering a strange problem . while I’m on a call and there’s a new incoming call, the ongoing call goes on hold and not only this, sometimes the new incoming call gets automatically connected! I’ve tried using my phone in safe mode. Still I’ve encouraged the same problem. So, thus problem is not attributable to third-party apps. I’m desperately looking for a solution out of this. Hope you can help. Thanks & Regards.

Solution: The first thing that you should do is to check for any new software updates available for your phone. These updates come with improvements and bug fixes that may help resolve this issue.

You should also try to check your settings and disable automatic answering if it is enabled. Go to Settings > Call Settings > Scroll down to Accessory settings for Call > select this > Untick Automatic Answering.

Next, Enable Smart Stay. Go to Settings > Language and input > Voice Recognizer> Samsung powered by Vlingo > below Voice Recognizer should be Voice Search. Select that and head to S-Voice settings > hit Control apps > Uncheck Incoming calls.

Note 3 Text Message Issue

Problem: This message comes up about 10x an hour on my note 3…..what do I do?????????? It’s driving me mental!!! “The number you have sent to is incorrect. If you are sending to an international destination you need to precede the number with a +”

Solution: Are you trying to send a text message to a person living in another country? If so you may need to add the + sign ( or two zeros) and the country code before the phone number.

If you are not trying to send a text message to an international number then try to boot your phone in Safe Mode.

  • Turn the device off.

  • Press and hold the Power

  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3′ appears on the screen, release the Power Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.

  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.

  • Safe mode’ will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode.’

If the issue does not occur in this mode then this might be caused by an app that is isntalled in your phone. Find out what that app is and uninstall it.

If in Safe mode the issue still exists then you may want try using another SIM on your device or contact your network provider.

Note 3 Gallery Not Showing Anything

Problem: My galaxy note 3 is not showing anything in my gallery. But in my files it is showing all the data. What can i do to fix this problem? I shall be so thankful.

Solution: This could just be an issue with your Gallery app. The app might have some corrupt temporary data stored in it preventing you from viewing anything. You will need to clear its cache and data to resolve this.

  • From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.

  • Tap Settings.

  • On the More tab, tap Application manager.

  • Tap the All tab.

  • Scroll to and tap the Gallery application.

  • Tap Clear cache.

  • Tap Clear data.

  • The application cache and data is now cleared.

Note 2 Not Charging

Problem: My note 3 doesn’t charge anymore with the original charger it came with. It vibrates and switch screen to screen. What should I do.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do is to check for any physical damages on your charger. Check the charger port for any bent contacts or dirt. You should also check the charging port of your phone for visible abnormalities.

If everything looks good then try to use a different charger when charging your phone. The charger that you are using may already be faulty.

You should also consider using a different battery.

Note 3 Does Not Turn On

Problem: I have a Samsung note 3 (I believe) and it will not turn on. I disconnected it from home this morning from charging and everything seemed fine. I got to work and tried to turn it on and nothing. I tried the button at the bottom to wake it up and nothing happened. I thought maybe I turned it off accidentally and tried turning it on by the power button. Still nothing. I plugged it in with my charger and still nothing. Can you tell me what is happening with it? I haven’t had it all that long, maybe a year or so.

Solution: The first thing you need to do is to take out the battery and clear out any temporary data stored in the phone RAM. This usually helps resolve this type of issue.

  • Take out battery

  • Take out microSD card ( if your phone has one installed)

  • Press and hold the power button for at least 3 minutes

  • Reinsert the battery (leave the microSD out).

  • Turn on the phone.

If your phone turns on normally then you can now reinsert the microSD.

If your phone does not respond then connect your phone to the wall charger and let it charge for 15 minutes then try to turn it on. If the problem still persists then try replacing your battery with a new one as this may already be faulty.

Note 3 AT&T Version Not Working On Verizon

Problem: Droid Guy, not sure if you can help with this but I’m striking out trying to find someone/somewhere who can. I have a Note 3 specific to AT&T. But I have Verizon as my carrier. My father in law passed away and I wanted to be able to make use of his phone rather than try and just sell it for my mother-in-law. However, after purchasing an unlock code (which was successful – “Network Unlock Successful” was received) and inserting my Verizon SIM card, the phone does not work for me. I feel like there should be more to this than simply obtaining a code. Do you have any additional advice? I went to a Verizon store and they tell me it cannot be done, because their “network is so strong” and “you can unlock a Verizon phone to use on another network but you cannot do the same for another carrier to Verizon. Is that accurate, or have your heard that before? I didn’t want to believe them, instead thinking they tell anyone that because they want you to purchase one of the their phones! So I’m searching for alternatives. Any thoughts?

Solution: AT&T and Verizon uses different technologies for their phone network. AT&T uses the GSM technology which uses a SIM card. Verizon uses the CDMA technology which does not require a SIM card.

The SIM card that you use on a Verizon phone is used to access its 4G LTE network. Unfortunately, this 4G frequency is different from that used by AT&T.

The AT&T Note 2 does not have a CDMA radio and has an incompatible LTE radio making making it difficult to work on the Verizon network.

The Verizon Note 2 on the other hand has an unactivated GSM radio. This means that it can be unlocked to be used in any GSM network.

Note 3 Text Notification Issue

Problem: Hello, love your forum. I did the update on my Note 3 thru Verizon and ever since, I only get one audible text tone per thread. If I’m in a text thread, the first text notifies me audibly that I have an answer, but after that, there are no audible notifications at all. I can’t walk away from the phone to see if more responses come in. This sucks, because who has time to sit by their phone looking at the screen if someone answered you? Help! I was on a chat with Verizon (after I did a “back to factory settings” reset) and they were of no use. In the end it was “I’m sorry, you’re on Galaxy S5” update now and that’s what it does on that phone. If so, I’d like to go back to another later update and stick with it. This one stinks. I’m SO mad.

Solution: Unfortunately, there is no easy method of going back to a previous update. You will have to download the previous firmware and manually flash it to your phone. Your phone should be rooted and have its bootloader unlocked for this to work.

Since a lot of people are also experiencing this issue then I’m sure Samsung will come up with an update to resolve this issue.

Note 3 Changing Default Boot Tone

Problem: Is there a way to change the factory default ringtone that is played when a Note 3 boots up? Thanks.

Solution: If your phone is not rooted then there is no easy way to change the factory default ringtone.

If your phone is rooted then you can change the ringtone to any tone you want. Open your file manager app then go to system -> media ->audio -> ui. Search for a file name called PowerOn.ogg (this is your startup tone). Rename this file.

Copy an .ogg music file which you would like to be set as the startup tone to this folder. Rename the file to PowerOn.ogg.

Note 3 Freezes/Moves On Its Own

Problem: Hi there, It is very hard to find a forum that discusses these issues Im about to share with you. I was given the note 3 as a birthday present and the phone was bought from a local dealer. Everything was going fine untill few days ago, i experience issues like. Freezing, the phone moves by itself like ( clicking the keypad without me touching it. ). And then its swipes the screen by itself without touching it. Sometimes, some areas of the phone is unable to touch. Please help. Even sending this email was a challenge. I had to close a few times before completing this mail. Thanks you.

Solution: A glitch in the software may be causing this issue. You should do a factory reset if this is the case. Make sure to backup your phone data first as this will be deleted in the process.

  • Turn off the device.

  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power

  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3′ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home

  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home

  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’

  • Press Power button to select.

  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’

  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.

  • Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

If the factory reset does not resolve the issue then this may already be a hardware related problem. You will need to bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking if this is the case.

Note 3 Emojis Not Working After Update

Problem: Good morning, I’m hoping you can help! My husband just upgraded his Note 3 with the newest version of his OS and now his emojis do not work. Have you heard of this? Do you have any suggestions on how we can fix it? Thank you, I appreciate your time.

Solution: When you say the emojis do not work do you mean that they don’t display properly on his phone, don’t display properly on the recipient phone, or don’t appear at all?

Try restarting the phone and see if that resolves the issue. Since the phone is running on the latest update then the emojis may be sent out as an MMS and not as a regular SMS. Make sure that the phone has the capability to send out an MMS by having the correct APN settings as well as a mobile data connection.

Note 3 Only Works With S Pen

Problem: I got the samsung galaxy note 3 like four weeks ago. This week my screen froze and I can only uses the s pen. Its been typing in numbers and letters without me touching the phone. I have done several factory resets and I still can’t touch the screen with my fingers. Either then the fact I can’t only you the s pen and the glitches the phone is great. Please help!!!!

Solution: If you have already performed several factory resets then this is already a hardware related problem. This issue could be caused by a loose connector or a faulty digitizer. You should bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking and repair.

Note 3 Printing Documents/ Emails

Problem: Hi I was hoping you could help me out with how to print emails or something off the Internet when I need to print I can’t seem to figure this out.. I have a note 3 I have an hp wireless printer and I installed hp printer app.. Please help me thank you!!

Solution: Make sure your HP printer and your phone are on the same wireless network. Once both devices ar on the same network follow the steps below.

  • Tap on “Menu” and select “Settings” from the Home screen of your Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

  • Tap on “Connections” and select “More networks.”

  • Tap on “Printing.”

  • Tap on “HP Print Service Plugin / Samsung Print Service Plugin” and toggle its button from “Off” to “On.” Your Galaxy Note 3 will now enabled for printing.

  • Verify that the printer you want to use is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Galaxy Note 3.

  • Navigate to and tap on the document or image you want printed from your Galaxy Note 3.

  • Tap on “Menu” and select “Print.”

  • Tap on “Samsung Print,” then select the printer you want to use.

  • Tap on the print icon to send your document or image to the printer.

Note 3 Calendar Notifications No Sound

Problem: I have a new Galaxy note 3 and I can’t get notifications to sound. I was using S Calendar then downloaded Google calendar and neither one with make a sound to notify me of an event. I have downloaded 3rd party sounds but they don’t work either. Everything looks fine in Settings. Any ideas?

Solution: If everything seems to be fine in your phone settings (volume not too low, notification sound chosen is loud enough) then you should try starting your phone in Safe Mode. This allows you to check if a certain third party app is causing the problem.

If the issue disappears in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app installed in your phone. Find out what that app is and uninstall it.

Note 3 Caller Can Be Heard Only Through Speakerphone

Problem: Hello, I hope you can help me. When I make or take a call, unless I put the speaker phone on to hear them, I cannot hear the person on the other end of the line. They can hear me. I hope this is something simple. Many thanks

Solution: The first thing you should do is to check if there is anything blocking the earpiece. Some dirt perhaps that may be blocking the sound.

If everything looks normal then try to insert the headphones in your phone and make a call. You should be able to hear the person on the other end using the headphone. While still on the call remove the headphone and check if the call passes on to the earpiece. If it does then there might just be a glitch in the software that made the phone think that a headphone was attached previously.

Sometimes certain third party apps are known to cause this issue. Boot your phone in Safe mode and then make a call.

If the issue disappears then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what that app is and uninstall it.

If he issue persists then this may already be a hardware related problem. You will have to bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.
