Note 2 Wi-Fi Authentication Error

Problem: The wifi on my Samsung note 2 doesn’t connect to wireless within range any longer, it says authentication error. It only connects if the tethering phone comes in contact. Pls I need ur help, because most times I use mobile hotspot to browse on my phone.

Solution: Wi-Fi connection errors are common issues among mobile devices. The first thing that you need to do in cases like this is to forget the network then scan for it again and connect to it.

From your phone go to System Settings/Wireless & Networks/Wi-Fi, select the Wi-Fi network that you’re trying to connect to, and tap “Forget.” Do a scan then connect to it again adding the password if necessary.

Next, try to reboot your phone and the mobile hotspot device you are connecting to. Most of the time a simple reboot will resolve this type of issue.

Check the settings of your mobile hotspot device. Sometimes a misconfigured device will cause some issues to occur. You may also try changing encryption modes and see what best works with your phone.

Make sure that the date and time of your phone and the mobile hotspot device you are connecting to are correct and matches. Check the Settings>Date & Time menu, and make sure “Automatic Date & Time” and “Automatic Time Zone” (if available) are checked.

You should also try to disable the Wi-Fi optimization feature of your phone if it is enabled. This feature allows you to save battery life and has nothing to do with improving your Wi-Fi signal.

Note 2 Can’t Receive Text Messages

Problem: Hi mate I manage to receive text messages this after noon and this evening on the 30 December but at 1030pm I can’t retrieve them no more I don’t know why please help.

Solution: In most cases when you can’t receive a text message in your phone all you need to do is to re-establish the connection between your phone and your network. This can easily be done by a reboot. Just turn off your phone then turn it on after a few seconds. This procedure resets your connection to your network which should allow you to get your messages.

Note 2 Sending Pictures

Problem: How can I send pictures from my galaxy note2 without my mobile data being on just having wifi

Solution: If you want to send pictures to another person without using mobile data, only Wi-Fi, there are various options available.

At the top of my list is the Hangouts app. If both of you are on Facebook you can also send the photos using the Facebook Messenger app.

If you are using a third party messaging app then you can also use this to send photos.

Finally, there’s always the tried and tested email method in sending photos.

Note 2 Unfortunately App Has Stopped Working

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. 4.4.2. I have been trying to play/listen to an app I down loaded recently (Bible Gateway) it is audio…and i am having some problems.

The first couple of weeks I had the app on my phone, it worked fine. Now, when I try to change a book of the bible or select the version of the bible i want to hear (King James dramatized version is what I prefer) i get this black pop up box that says, “Unfortunately, Bible Gateway has stopped working).

The only way i can avoid getting that message is just opening the app…NOT changing any settings….as in….i want to listen to Mark, Matthew, Luke or John. I have to leave it as it is….on Genesis 1. Well i have been listening to Genesis every night for a few weeks. I turn it on an set it on my nightstand and listen to it as i fall asleep. I have heard Genesis so many times I feel like these people are my relatives!

I restarted my phone. Didnt work.

I unloaded and reinstalled the app…twice. Didnt work.

I sent an email to the app developer. No response.

This is the only bible app I like. I like the voice sound. It sounds human, not robotic.

I tried all of the other apps on play store but i don’t like any of them. I want this audio bible.

I tried Bible.IS last night but that turned into a mess. I downloaded so much documentation — eaxh individual book…that it took ALL of my storage space….on the device and on the SD card. I uninstalled the app. I tried to see if i removed all the downloads from the app to my device and SD card but I’m not sure. I just recently bought an SD card with 16 on it. My phone didn’t come with an SD card and I have been having problems with my wifi at home. Unstable connection. Sitting 7 feet from the vodem/router/laptop and 85% of the time i cant get wifi connected. I don’t want to switch over to 4G mobile because it runs my bill up. I can go other places and hook into their wifi.

I was in the AT&T store twice and on the phone with them twice and nobody could resolve the wifi issue.

The reason I bought the SD card was the guy at the AT&T store told me to go get one before i did a factory reset. So i got one to back up my gallery and contacts. The AT&T guy didn’t tell me it wouldn’t back up my calendar…the one that came pre-installed on this phone that I had 2 years worth of data on.

Just frustrated. Don’t know what to do not a “techy” person. Can you help me?

Solution: The reason why you are getting this error message is because of glitches in the software. This could be caused by a corrupt temporary data, incompatibility issues, or even bugs in the software itself.

To resolve this issue follow the troubleshooting steps below. Proceed to the next step if the issue persists. Make sure that your phone is running on the latest software update before troubleshooting.

  • From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.

  • Tap Settings.

  • On the More tab, tap Application manager.

  • Tap the All tab.

  • Scroll to and tap the desired application.

  • Tap Clear cache.

  • The application cache is now cleared.

Uninstall then reinstall the app.

  • With both the Volume Up key and the Home key held down, press and hold the Power key.

  • Release all three keys when the Samsung logo appears.

  • Press the Volume Down key to scroll to wipe data/factory reset.

  • With wipe data/factory reset highlighted, press the Power key.

  • Press the Volume Down key to scroll to Yes –delete all user data.

  • With Yes –delete all user data highlighted, press the Power key.

  • Once the wipe is complete, press the Power key to select reboot system now.

  • The master reset is now complete. The handset will restart.

Once your phone has fully restarted install the app and see if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is an issue with the app itself and can be resolved by its developers.

Note 2 Downgrading Software

Problem: Hi, Buddy, I have loads of problems with my New update on samsung galaxy Note 2..Please inform me how i can degrade.

Solution: Downgrading your phone is possible however it isn’t as easy as upgrading. While upgrading your phone can be done automatically it is different when you try to downgrade. First, this isn’t supported by your carrier or even Samsung. Second, doing so may damage your phone.

Some of the requirements needed to downgrade are a rooted device, the specific firmware version that you want to use, and a program called Odin. For specific instructions on how to downgrade you can check some of the popular Android forums online.

  • From the Home screen, tap Contacts icon.

  • Tap a Contact entry.

  • Press Menu key and then tap Share namecard via and select a delivery method: Bluetooth, ChatON, Dropbox, Email (Exchange or Internet), Gmail, Messaging, or Wi-Fi Direct. The Namecard attaches to the selected message type and is delivered when you send the message.

To send all contacts follow the procedure listed below.

  • From the Home screen, tap Contacts icon.

  • Press Menu key and then tap Import/Export > Share namecard via.

  • Tap Select all to place a check mark alongside all currently displayed Contact entries.

  • Tap Done and select a delivery method: Bluetooth to transmit the contacts to another Bluetooth-compatible device, ChatON to send the contacts to selected buddies, Dropbox to upload the entries to your remote Dropbox web storage location.

Note 2 Can Receive But Not Send MMS

Problem: I have a question about my note 2 why won’t it send pictured or mms but I can receive them thanks and have a great day.

Solution: The first thing you should do in cases like this is to reset your phone connection to your network. You can do this by turning off your phone then restarting it after a couple of seconds.

If you still can’t send MMS verify first if your mobile data connection is working by opening a website using your phone browser. Once you have verified that you have a mobile data connection you should then proceed with checking your phone APN settings. These settings are unique for every carrier and are required so that you can access the Internet as well as send and receive MMS.

You can get a copy of the correct settings your network is using from your carrier website. Just compare these settings with the ones in your phone and make the necessary changes if there are any discrepancies.

Note 2 Does Not Turn On

Problem: Good day, I am writing regarding to my Samsung galaxy note 2 (GT-N7100) PROBLEM . I have done factory reset but unfortunately the device can not able to start on . it has been trying since yesterday about 24 hours . Your assistance is highly appreciated.

Solution: If your phone does not start right after performing a factory reset then try connecting it to a wall charger for at least 30 minutes first before attempting to restart it. Your battery may already be fully discharged and may need charging.

You should also try using a new battery to eliminate any possibility of your battery being faulty.

Do a quick physical inspection of your phone.

  • Carefully inspect your phone to be sure it’s not overheating, swollen or damaged.

  • Carefully inspect your phone’s charging port and remove any debris.

  • Remove the battery.

  • Carefully inspect and clean the gold contacts using a cotton swab or dry soft cloth.

If you see any damage then I suggest bringing your phone to an authorized service center for checking.

Note 2 Reset On Its Own

Problem: Hi I read in the internet that you helped several peoples problems with their Samsung note 2 phones. My question is my phone did a reset on its own and i didn’t know about it cuz i thought it wasn’t charging but when it finally did charge it asked for a name on device. It was then that I got upset because i hadn’t backed up my phone photos because the memory card was defected and I didn’t back them up on my computer. Is their any possible way to retrieve my photos and videos from my phone?

Solution: The only way you will be able to retrieve your photos and videos is if you have previously subscribed to a cloud service that automatically backs up your gallery. An example of this is if you have activated Google Photos then you will still be able to access your photos and videos through your Google account.

Generally speaking, if a phone performs a factory reset then everything stored in it is deleted so unless a backup copy is made then I’m afraid your photos and videos are lost.

Note 2 Contacts Not Responding

Problem: I own the Samsung Note 2. I’ve been having problems with my contacts not being available and also not being able to add people in contact groups I had previously set up. I’m constantly getting a “Contact isn’t responding” message when I try to go through my contacts list too. And now I’m noticing the device isn’t saving some of the numbers of my new contacts. Thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Solution: You should first try clearing the cache of the contacts app. The app may be storing a corrupt temporary data that may be causing this problem.

  • From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.

  • Tap Settings.

  • On the More tab, tap Application manager.

  • Tap the All tab.

  • Scroll to and tap the desired application.

  • Tap Clear cache.

  • The application cache is now cleared.

If the issue persists then try starting your phone in Safe Mode as this problem may be caused by a third party app that you installed.

  • Turn off the Galaxy Note 2 by pressing the Power button (positioned in the right edge of the device). Tap Power Off from the choices that will appear followed by OK.

  • Once the device successfully shuts down, press the Power button again, but this time, keep your finger pressed on it together with the Volume Down button.

  • Let go of the Power button when you see the Samsung Galaxy Note II logo but do not let go of the Volume Down key yet.

  • After that, you will see a status message telling you that your Galaxy Note 2 is now in Safe Mode. Let go of the Volume Down key and tap the OK button.

Try accessing your contacts and if the issue does not occur then the culprit may be an app installed in your phone. Find out what that app is and uninstall it from your phone.

Note 2 Vibration Stopped Working

Problem: I have the galaxy note 2 and out of nowhere the vibration stopped working. Is there anything I can do to try to fix it besides replacing it?

Solution: If the vibration feature of your phone does not work then it may already be a hardware related issue. However, we can’t discount the possibility of the software causing this problem. To check if this is a software related issue you should perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup all your data before proceeding.

  • Turn off phone.

  • While holding down the Volume Up key, press and hold the Home key.

If the factory reset fails to resolve the issue then you will have to bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.

Note 2 Charging Issue

Problem: looking for some help with an issue. plugged in my 1.5yr old phone, it recognized that it was plugged in (battery %3). error or warning message came up “battery will not efficiently charge because applications are running”. (and to point out, the lightning bolt that normally appears when plugged in didn’t show up, and it wasn’t going up in %, it kept depleting) So I closed the apps, re plugged charger in, it vibrated (recognizing it was connected) but wasn’t charging, and warning message came up again. Phone is now at 0% and wont turn on. With phone off, and connected to charger, it doesn’t charge, and no screen comes up saying its charging. has anyone come across this. I have contacted roger customer support, and even Samsung. no help, no idea what the message means….surprise surprise. Thanks for your help.

Solution: In cases like this you should first try using a different wall charger and see if the issue gets resolved. Chargers usually get damaged easily and if this is what’s happening then you will have this type of issue.

You should also do a quick inspection of your phone

  • Carefully inspect your phone to be sure it’s not overheating, swollen or damaged.

  • Carefully inspect your phone’s charging port and remove any debris.

  • Remove the battery.

  • Carefully inspect and clean the gold contacts using a cotton swab or dry soft cloth.

If you have another battery then try inserting it in your phone as well.

Note 2 Email/Charging Issues

Problem: Hi there. I apologize in advance if these are repeat or user error mishaps.

1) whenever i power up my phone, theres a notification that ‘sending email failed’, and when i click on it, it brings me to my outbox and there nothing there. Ive checked all folders for both my email accounts and theres nothing to be sent. Whats up with that?

2) my phone will show low battery (starts with 15, then 5 an what not), so it actually seems to be losing charge and then it powers down. So i plug it in like 1 min later and it shows about 50% charged! Thanks for any info!

Solution: For your first issue you should try clearing the cache of your email app. This issue may be caused by some corrupt temporary data of the app.

  • From the home screen, tap the Apps icon.

  • Tap Settings.

  • On the More tab, tap Application manager.

  • Tap the All tab.

  • Scroll to and tap the desired application.

  • Tap Clear cache.

  • The application cache is now cleared.

If that does not work then you will have to delete your email account and re-enter it. Make sure to backup all important email messages that you may have as this will be deleted.

For your second issue this might be a problem with the battery. Try replacing it with a new one and see if the issue still persists.

Note 2 Flashing Firmware

Problem: How would I install the flash firmware to a note 2 phone stuck in recovery mode.

Solution: You will need the correct flash firmware for your phone. You will also need a program called Odin which is going to be installed in your computer. For specific instructions on the correct procedure try visiting the popular Android forums online. There are various through discussions on this matter there.

Problem: Hey man can you help? My note 2 wont tilt at all. It will not screen rotate. If I am on youtube and want to see full it wont work. Youtube has it where you tilt to go full. Also all the games that you till with don’t work. Like deer hunter 2014 cant really use that.

Solution: Make sure your phone is running on the latest software update before troubleshooting. These updates come with improvements and bug fixes that may help resolve this issue.

Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the problem. Proceed to the next step if the issue persists.

Reboot your phone.

Check your phone setting first if the screen rotation feature is active.

  • Tap and drag the Notification bar downwards.

  • Make sure that the Screen rotation at the top of the Notification area is green. This means that it is enabled.

  • With both the Volume Up key and the Home key held down, press and hold the Power key.

  • Release all three keys when the Samsung logo appears.

Note 2 Charging Randomly Disconnects/Connects

Problem: Hi Droidguy, I’ve found your website to be very helpful and I want to thank you for all the Note 2 troubleshooting you’ve done. I’ve had a Note 2 GT-N7105 for a bit over a year now and lately it has had a charging issue. When I plug it into a wall socket, it will start off as charging, then disconnect itself (as in it would think that I’ve unplugged the charger) and then reconnect itself. It will do this constantly, making it impossible to charge my Note 2. Aside from that, it will occasionally have the Page Buddy pop up and tell me that the Dock is Connected. I have tried rebooting it, reinserting my battery, SIM and SD card and also cleaning my charging port with an air brush. I have used a spare Note 2 battery and also another charger (both chargers work for my friend’s devices with no problem and they both have worked for me in the past), but I still get the same result. Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

Solution: It looks like you already checked everything on the hardware side of things. The only thing left to do is to perform a factory reset to eliminate any software related causes. Make sure to backup your data before proceeding.

  • Turn off phone.

  • While holding down the Volume Up key, press and hold the Home key.

If the issue persists then you will have to bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.
