A Samsung smartphone with the model number SM G430 has just been spotted on an Indian import database. The device is revealed to be packing a 1080p display with a 5.5 inch panel. The user agent profile for the smartphone also reveals that it could be packing a Snapdragon 801 quad core SoC clocked at 2.5 GHz. The device is shown to be running Android 4.4 KitKat by default, although that could change in time for launch next year.
The import listing from India mentions that the smartphone has made its way to the region for R&D purposes, so there’s not much we know about it at this juncture. It’s clear however that this is potentially a midrange device which could break cover sometime next year, probably during the MWC event in March. Samsung has hinted that it wants to decrease the number of smartphones that it launches every year, indicating that its focus will be solely on high end and midrange offerings.
We’ll keep a close eye on the leaks for more information on this mystery Samsung device.
