The Moto 360 smartwatch is expected to receive the Android 5.0.1 update sometime soon, although no specific word was provided by the manufacturer. But early yesterday, the company finally broke the silence and mentioned that its smartwatch will receive the coveted Lollipop update today.
Since some users grew impatient and tried to manually flash the update by resetting the device and following some other procedures, Motorola decided to make it clear that all Moto 360 units will receive the Android 5.0.1 update before the end of Monday. So if you’ve been anxiously waiting for that update notification to hit your smartwatch, you should be relieved to know that the manufacturer will conclude the rollout very soon.
The Android 5.0.1 update for Android Wear brings a plethora of changes to the fore, including the addition of a new Watch Face API which allows developers to bring watch faces directly to the Play Store. There are also going to be battery life improvements and a variety of changes making its way to the platform with the update.
