It’s common knowledge at this point that the upcoming version of HTC’s default UI will be known as Sense 7. This UI is expected to be launching on the HTC One M9 or the Hima in March or April, which is usually the norm for a new version of Sense. A new report from LlabTooFeR suggests that this new UI will also make its way to older HTC devices, starting in May 2015.
Naturally, devices like the One M8, One E8 and the Desire Eye could be high up on the list to get the update, but it’s good to know that the company won’t wait long to bring the brand new user interface to its older flagships. We should also expect an update on the HTC One M7 and the One Max if the new UI is not hardware driven.
This ROM will be based on Android 5.0 and naturally there will be a few changes on board based on that. We must clarify however that the Android 5.0 ROM which will be rolled out to the HTC One M8 and the One M7 will not carry the Sense 7 UI. They will still be running the Sense 6 UI, but with some minor tweaks.
