GPe Sony Z Ultra now getting the Android 5.0 update

Sony Z Ultra GPe

Google has reportedly started seeding the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the GPe Sony Z Ultra smartphones starting today. The update carries all the bells and whistles of Android 5.0 that we’ve seen on Nexus devices, so expect a familiar experience if you own a Nexus smartphone or tablet.

Unfortunately, the cellular Nexus 7 tablets have still not received the update, as Google is yet to finish rolling it out. This has caused quite a bit of frustration among users as the tablet is an official Google product unlike the Sony Z Ultra. The GPe HTC One M8 and One M7 are also slated to get Android 5.0 sometime this week with the GPe LG G Pad 8.3 getting it yesterday.

The update file for the Z Ultra is 397MB in size which is almost the same size as the update on Nexus devices, so make sure you’re on a WiFi network before downloading it. Have you started seeing Android 5.0 on your GPe Sony Z Ultra? Let us know below.
