Google Play Edition HTC One M8 and One M7 getting Android 5.0 this week

HTC delayed the Android 5.0 update for the GPE One M8 last week. But it seems like the company has finally rectified the bugs plaguing its Android 5.0 ROM as it is now ready to roll out the update to the handset. HTC’s Mo Versi has claimed that the update should receive technical approval or TA by the end of today, meaning that the official roll out is just a few days away.

It usually takes manufacturers a couple of days at most to send out the update after getting the technical approval. So expect to find the update on your device by tomorrow or the day after. It is hoped that HTC and Google have fixed all the last minute bugs that delayed the update in the first place.

It’s good to know that HTC hasn’t taken long to fix the issues so that the update can be sent out quickly. Make sure you’re on the lookout for an update if you own the GPE One M8 or the One M7 from last year.
