It was talked about in the rumors for quite some time and Verizon has finally made it official. NFL fans in the U.S. will be pleased to know that their Moto X (2014) can be customized with a Football Leather back cover to give you that premium feel. This is truly unique for a smartphone and is seemingly exclusive to customers of Verizon Wireless.
This means that you won’t be able to customize the device through Moto Maker and will have to get it through Verizon’s official store instead. The front of the device is black and cannot be changed into white, but apart from that the Football Leather Moto X should serve up as a nice alternative to your standard Moto X models. Just like other leather variants, this one will set you back by an extra $50 on the asking price, so it certainly comes at a cost.
There’s nothing different internally and you can expect the same 5.2 inch 1080p display, the Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal storage, Android 4.4 KitKat, a 13-megapixel camera and a 2,300 mAh battery.
