With a few other areas already having access to T-Mobile’s Wideband LTE spectrum, it’s only natural that it progresses. Now T-Mobile customers can access Wideband LTE in Boston, Massachusetts, along with these other locations:
- Springfield, Massachusetts
- Worcester, Massachusetts
- Providence, RI
- Warwick, RI
For those unfamiliar, T-Mobile’s Wideband LTE increases the capacity of the network where it is, allowing for faster speeds. T-Mobile already says that the average download speed is 24.1 Mbps down with a peak speed of 94 Mbps having been seen.
“Our T-Mobile customers in Boston are going to love the speed boost that Wideband LTE is bringing to their lives,” said Tom Ellefson, Vice President – Engineering, T-Mobile. “Whether posting to Instagram at a Celtics game, downloading the latest movie, checking in to Boston Harbor on Facebook or online shopping, every one of our T-Mobile LTE customers can immediately take advantage of this network upgrade on their mobile device or tablet.”
You don’t need to get a new device to take advantage of the new bandwidth availability, as every LTE-capable device can use these speeds, even without a software update. So if you’re in Boston or one of the other locations listed in T-Mobile’s press release, enjoy your new speeds.
