The Samsung Gear Circle stereo Bluetooth headset has finally gone official in the U.S. and will be available via T-Mobile soon while AT&T, Best Buy, Amazon and Samsung’s online store will be getting it later this month. Pricing details haven’t been disclosed in the company’s press release, but Amazon has the Korean version of the headset listed for nearly $130, so we’re expecting this to cost somewhere near that price range.
Best Buy will reportedly have an exclusive on the white version of the Gear Circle while the black and blue models will be available from the aforementioned retailers/carriers. As far as the functionality is concerned, the Gear Circle is essentially a hands-free device with some tricks up its sleeve, provided you have a Samsung device. It can interact with your device using the text-to-speech recognition based on S-Voice.
Standard Android text-to-speech functions should work with the Gear Circle regardless of the device you’re using, so you won’t be completely at sea if you pair this with a non-Samsung device. The earbuds can be attached together to pause music and remove it to start using again. Samsung claims the battery on the device can offer 11 hours of talk time and 9 hours of music play, which is pretty impressive for a wireless Bluetooth headset.
