Motorola has just announced the extended warranty service for the Nexus 6, dubbed Moto Care. This has been available for the Moto X as well, so it’s not new to us. The Motorola Nexus 6 went on sale only recently, so the timing of its arrival is spot on. This increases the coverage of your smartphone to two years from the date of purchase.
However, there’s a catch. The deal applies to Nexus 6 units bought only through Motorola’s website. We’re hoping it’s applicable for Play Store purchases too, but there’s no clarification on that yet. However, it’s quite clear that you won’t be covered by this accidental damage coverage if you get the Nexus 6 through a carrier.
The Moto Care for the Nexus 6 will set you back by $129.99 which is understandable considering the off contract pricing of the device. The Moto Care for the Moto X however is much cheaper at $85. If you’ve recently purchased the Nexus 6 from Motorola, make sure you get the Moto Care coverage to have your device protected against accidental damage for an extra year.
