Verizon has just launched a new midrange LG handset called the Transpyre through its prepaid channels. The smartphone will be sold for $99.99 without a contract and will be available from the carrier immediately. The Transpyre joins a relatively long list of prepaid Android offerings sold through Big Red. The handset is 4G LTE enabled as well, so customers can reap benefits of the carrier’s blazing fast network speeds right out of the box.
On the hardware front, the Transpyre is packing a 4.5 inch 480 x 800 resolution display, a 5-megapixel camera on the back, a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 SoC, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat and a 2,100 mAh battery. The smartphone also comes with LG’s custom security features like Knock Code and Knock On, so it’s a pretty capable device even for a budget offering.
There are multiple data plans to choose from, so make sure you give them a look from Verizon’s site below.
